Course Description & Objectives: 

Soil organisms and higher organisms (plants and animals). Biofertiliser technology:definition and types, production, application and management. Factors influencing the effectiveness of biofertilisers. Merits and de-merits of biofertiliser with emphasis on economic viability of the  technology. 

Learning Outcomes: 
  • Students acquire knowledge and skills for production of biofertiliser
  • Increases students’ awareness of other socio-economic factors necessary to sustain biofertiliser technology
  • Students acquire knowledge and skills for organic farming, its potentials and limitations.
