Course Description & Objectives: 
  • Concepts, principles & diagnostic techniques of parasitological (including Entomology) relevance to laboratory science & technology will be presented and discussed from a medical, biological, zoological and agricultural point of view.
  • Specimens and reagents preparation, handling & processing and management will be presented including interpretation of results.
  • Operation, function and calibration of specialised equipment. Concepts, principles & diagnostic techniques of parasitological relevance to laboratory science and technology will be presented.
  • Sampling procedures. Select laboratory procedures. Select specimens and reagents preparation, handling & processing and management. Interpretation of results. Operation, function and calibration of specialised equipment.
  • Specialized aspects of Entomology, Helmithology, protozoology in medical/clinical practice
