Course Description & Objectives: 

This course places the development of communication in Uganda in historical perspective. It surveys the evolution of the traditional forms of communication from pre-colonial to the development of contemporary forms: the newspapers, magazines, broadcasting and motion pictures.

Learning Outcomes: 

This course will enable the student to:

  • Appreciate the development of communication
  • Grasp the effect of globalization on communication in Uganda
  • Assess the economic impact of communication at the community and national level
