The course introduces a student to the different drilling systems; well-bore hydraulics; casing design and well planning. 

Learning Outcomes: 

At the end of this course a student should be able to:

  • Identify drilling problems and work out solutions for them
  • Decide when and how to drill directional and horizontal wells
  • Carry out well-bore surveying and well control
