Course Description & Objectives: 

This course gives principles of electromagnetic systems and surveying, and applies them to borehole surveying and radiometric dating methods. 

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course, the student should be able to:

  • Apply the principles of electromagnetic systems to surveying.
  • Use the fundamentals of radioactive disintegration in dating methods.
  • Use instruments suited for both methods in gathering geophysical data.
