Course Description & Objectives: 

Approach to specific tailoring, sewing skills, machine maintenance and repair.  Work through projects designed to test students varied aptitudes and widen their experiences in materials color, texture etc.  Pattern cutting from blocks to finished patterns, interpreting pattern guides and principles of planning.

Learning Outcomes: 
  • Students are expected by the end of the course to have acquired essential skills in garment construction and fashion design.
  • Their experience in the application of colour, fabric and media use will widen
  • The students should be able to create patterns from blocks.
