Definitions & Principles of first aid
Pulmonary circulation and pressure points
Wounds and bleeding/haemorrhages, burns and scalds, asphyxia and artificial respiration, choking and shock, tissue injuries, poisons and poisoning, unconsciousness, fractures, drowning, fires and home accidents
Basic nursing procedures, infection control, patient’s needs, observational procedures, hazards

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the course the student should have learnt first aid principles.
The student should be able to demonstrate an understanding of life saving procedures and first aid practices.
