Course Description & Objectives: 

The course introduces students to basic classification and naming of trees in both natural forests and plantations. Students learn about evolution of plants and distribution of tree species in different geographical areas.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Identify, name and classify various tree species
  • Identify various tree species and their suitability for different purposes and growing conditions
  • Students appreciate tree use and distribution for plantation and natural forest habitats.
