Course Description & Objectives: 

The course introduces students to tropical agriculture and its characteristics including the recommended agronomic principles that improve crop production and productivity. The course also covers farming systems and the components of sustainable agriculture in East Africa.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Objectives:

  • To appreciate the diversity of the farming systems and environments within which crops are produced in the East African region.
  • To acquire skills on application of proper agronomic principles in the production of annual and perennial crops.
