Course Description & Objectives: 

The course will study the nature, scope and content of children's and minority rights and the role and scope of paternal and local authorities in enforcing them. The legal and ethical issues in protecting the rights of children and minorities; relating to the unborn, the human embryo, child labor, sexual exploitation, minority rights, or any other forms of abuse that infringes children's and minority rights will be examined.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course, the students will:1)      Be able to define a child2)      Be able to assess the legislative protection of Minority and children’s rights under international law.3)      Be able to assess the domestication of the children’s rights  in Uganda4)      Be able to assess the violence against children at international, regional and domestic levels.
