This course encompasses the identification, isolation, structure elucidation, and study of the chemical and pharmacological characteristics of chemical substances produced by living organisms.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, students should be able to:-
Carry out identification and isolation of chemical constituents of natural products;
Carry out screening of natural products for bioactivity;
Carry out structure elucidation of chemical constituents from natural products; and,
Design and carry out synthesis of important drugs as relates to natural products.
