Course Description & Objectives:

This course is intended to equip the student with knowledge and skills in the methods for assay of medicinal plant products and for determination of active ingredients and impurities present in them.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:-

Carry out appropriate sampling of medicinal plant materials for quality control;
Utilize physical, chemical and instrumental methods in the assay of natural products; and,
Detect and determine the level of impurities in medicinal plant products
