Course Description & Objectives: 
  • Physiological anatomy of the renal, GIT, respiratory and cardiovascular system; Functions of the heart and blood vessels; ECG and CVS dysfunction.
  • Mechanism of respiration in the lungs and at tissue level; respiratory failure; cardio-respiratory changes during exercise; assessing cardio-respiratory systems. Renal functions, acid-base balance, acute and chronic renal failure.
  • Gastro-intestinal Physiology(GIT)
  • Functions of the gastro-intestinal tract; hormones of the GIT; functions of the liver and GIT function. Balanced diet and cellular utilization of micronutrients.
Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this course, the students will be able to:

  • Describe the physiology of nutrition, Blood formation, use and functions.
  • Physiological anatomy and functioning of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
  • Conduct physiological experiments in the areas of cardio-respiratory, renal and GTI functions.
