Course Description & Objectives: 

This course is meant to equip graduate student with various theories and practices which cut across humanities like history, geography religious studies, fine art, political education, economics, entrepreneurship and others that are paramount in the contemporary   Education system.  It also prepares students to acquire modern skills of dealing with society and implementing the social science and arts related educational experiences at various levels of the educational ladder.  The course further equips graduate students with competence needed to effectively teach subjects in the category of humanities. 

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course, teacher trainees should be able to:

  1. Organize learning experiences which suit the current dynamics of society.
  2. Acquire and apply useful teacher competences which will enhance the teaching of humanities.
  3. Critically evaluate the trends in the humanities curriculum.
  4. Translate theory to classroom practice.
  5. Provide an understanding of social relations.
  6. Provide education for modern world perspective.
