Course Description & Objectives:

The main objective of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the various approaches to providing health care around the world at large. The course provides a survey of the health service delivery system with an emphasis on the evolving nature of the health care system. Issues related to multi hospital system integration, physician hospital organizations and alternative delivery systems are explored. Objectives:

Define, describe and discuss health and mental health, as well as physical, environmental and social determinants of health and mental health.
Examine the domestic issues impacting the delivery of health and mental health services today.
Identify specific issues impacting health and mental health care delivery.
Focus on social issues impacting health.
Examine various sides of each issue; critically evaluate strengths and weaknesses of arguments, and presents scholarly analysis of possible alternative solutions
