Course Description & Objectives: 

This course introduces students to structures, their function and molecules involved in digestion, nutrition and metabolism in humans. The processes through which food goes through from the time of obtaining it to the time it is utilized by the human body cells and the laboratory investigations which could be done when thing go wrong.

Learning Outcomes: 
  1. Demonstration of ability to identify and describe the structures of the GIT
  2. Appreciation of the function of the GIT structures
  3. Appreciation of the molecules involved in metabolism
  4. Demonstration of skills in determining blood glucose levels,
