The course covers the generation, migration and storage of petroleum, petroleum exploration techniques, physical and chemical properties of petroleum. Sedimentary basins and petroleum systems.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Course Objectives:To enable students to describe;

  1. The formation of petroleum, its exploration and production.
  2. The principals of economic decision in petroleum exploration.
  3. The different methods of petroleum exploration and exploitation.
