Course Description & Objectives:

This course is intended to equip the student with knowledge and skills to identify medicinal products of mineral, plant and animal origin.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:-

Identify medicinal plants, animals and minerals of medicinal importance;
Classify natural products according to various criteria such as constituents, morphology and pharmacological activities;
Identify geographical locations of the natural products;
Describe the binomial plant nomenclature; and,
Identify and name any given plant by application of taxonomical characters.
