Course Description & Objectives: 

This course builds on the foundation gained from the course: MSC 7104: Information Systems Analysis. It introduces learners to systems design and development in library and Information science related services.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Objective: To make library and information professionals the architects of Systems in their profession so that systems designed and developed are tailored to handling information in interest of the profession.

On completion students will be able to:

  • Describe the concepts, theories and approaches of systems development
  • Describe the different phases of systems development and design
  • Explain the different methodologies for design of information systems
  • Demonstrate the ability to design information systems.
