The course explores economic of education theory in detail. The course aims to provide students with a perspective on the pressing issues concerning education sector in mainly third world settings and bring them towards the research frontiers in certain selected themes. This course is also designed to provide students with analytical tools grounded in economic theory to plan, analyze and evaluate educational projects.  

Learning Outcomes: 

The course should enable students to:

  • Examine the common analytical economic tools,
  • Critique standard economic analyses as they relate to educational projects
  •  Evaluate the applicability of economic principles to education investment decisions in education
