Course Description & Objectives: 

This course is a general survey of Christianity on the African Continent. It deals with the origins of the 19th Century Missionary Movement and the basic beliefs and traditions of Christianity. It highlights some of the influences that historically affected the implanting and growth of the church in Africa (e.g. culture, indigenous beliefs, education, medical, evangelism, indigenization, revival and renewal or Charismatic Movements, etc.). it also covers contemporary factors which influence both favorably and adversely, the spread of Christianity in East Africa and Uganda.
