Course Description & Objectives: 

The course introduces the students to the study of theory and practice of African Drama.  It focuses on regional representation in the dramatic form and thematic concerns of African dramatists.  The course will, therefore, offer a survey of major African dramatists from the beginnings to the present.  Close attention will be given to the dramatic practice and thematic trends of each dramatist but the social and historical context of the dramatist will also be considered.
