Course Description & Objectives: 

This course covers theory and practice in institutional/organizational change and development. That is, it examines intervention strategies (assumptions underlying organizational development strategies) as well as evaluating and institutionalizing system wide change. As such, the course gives students an overview of the various instruments used in organizational development processes.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course students should have

  • Enhanced understanding of the theoretical developments and their practical application to the field of organizational change and development
  • Confidence development and tools to build a wider skills repertoire for organizational architecturing (solving immediate problems and creating structures for long term development and learning/healthy organization).
  • Competence in assisting organizations solve problems of efficiency, effectiveness and health.
  • Knowledge and skills to help organizations become more adaptive and healthier systems.
