The course addresses analyses of the major classical sociological theory aimed at exploring the theoretical and methodological foundations of Sociology as a discipline. Classical contemporary and post modernistic Sociological theories are treated in relationship to practical situations in developing countries. The course equips students with tools of analysis that can help them to interpret the current realities in African societies.
