An analysis of the role of constitutions and constitutionalism in stabilising politics in any given country, why constitutions in many parts of the world, particularly Africa, are abrogated with impunity. Finally the course examines the question of when political stability is a cause or a consequence of constitutionalism or can the relationship be creatively modified by political actors.
