Course Description & Objectives: 

This course aims to develop students’ appreciation of the importance of various aspects in construction planning, management, safety and quality assurance, and how these aspects interrelate to facilitate the site communication and co-ordination of construction projects.  Identify aspects in building production management which are important to construction professionals.  Monitor and control construction work progress through interpreting production programmes produced using programming techniques. Appreciate the importance of labour, material and plants management in construction.  Understand the principles of quality assurance and site safety.  Essential aspects of construction plant, equipment, method and programme.  It requires the development of safe systems of work, an appreciation of forward planning, materials procurement, and productivity
