Contemporary Issues in Mass Communication

The course looks at the different contemporary trends in media, journalism and communication. It basically focuses on a critical examination of how major themes in society, business, politics and technology impact on the operation of the media. The course operates  like a funnel of all the various aspects of mass communication studied from the beginning of the course and relates those concepts and theories  to the practical world of journalism.
