Course Description & Objectives: 

Corporate governance is a central and dynamic aspect of business. The importance of corporate governance for corporate success cannot be overstated. Examples of massive corporate failures and collapses resulting from weak systems of corporate governance have highlighted the need to improve and reform corporate governance systems international. Thus the objectives of this course are to expose participants to corporate governance systems and principles, mechanisms and structures that lead to improvement of corporate governance. 

Learning Outcomes: 

At the end of the course the participants should be able to:

  • Consider the framework and apply mechanisms of good corporate governance
  • Apply the best practices of corporate governance foster transparency and accountability
  • Apply corporate governance principles to enhance business ethics and fair competition
  • Utilise corporate governance principles to promote corporate social responsibility
