Course Description & Objectives: 

Criminal Procedure is essentially a practical subject concerned with technical rules to be found in statutory enactments and case law.  It covers all procedural rules from pretrial to post sentencing of persons accused of crimes.

Learning Outcomes: 

At the end of the course the student should be able to:

  1. Know the preliminaries to prosecution.
  2. Commence prosecutions.
  3. Understand the procedures to be followed throughout a criminal prosecution.
  4. Know sentencing procedures.
  5. Post conviction or acquittal processes.
