Course Description & Objectives: 

Intensive investigation of such essential elements as line, space,  texture, color, value  using principles such as balance, unity  harmony,  rhythm, contrast in two and  three dimensional design. Projects are assigned in sequence leading to specific visual solutions. Various media are used. 

Learning Outcomes: 

Learning OutcomeUpon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Understand and use correctly most of the special terms used in Design elements
  • Be able to relate color with the real world.
  • Be able to apply color in a comprehensive and professional manner.
  • Demonstrate the use of good design and composition principles in solutions to assigned problems.
  • Have an understanding of how to interpret shape, color line, form  texture using principles of design to  develop 2 and 3 dimension products.
  • Have developed a sense of aesthetics, taste and proportion in relating the elements and principles of a design.
