Course Description & Objectives: 

This course exposes learners to the teaching of different methods and techniques used in the various types of drawing (imaginative and observation drawing), and the historical development of these forms of drawing in education. The course takes learners through advanced study of nature and the living person by experimenting with different conditions of light and shade in relation to the different elements and principles of art and design. Also, a survey of the possible materials is done for teaching drawing.  

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this course, learners should be in position to;

  1. Analyze the historical development of drawing as a field in art education.
  2. Experiment and instruct learners with different possible materials used in teaching and learning drawing.
  3. Analyze both male and female human figures as regards the elements and principles of art.
  4. Guide learners on choice and use in the different studies of Nature.
  5. Relate drawing to purpose in the different disciplines of Art and Craft.
