Course Description & Objectives: 

this course introduces simple statistical and research methodologies to the student teachers so that they can be able to analyse their students’ performance.  The course is divided into five major topics. These are:

  1. Basic concepts in educational measurement
  2. Validity and reliability of tests
  3. Construction of tests
  4. Statistics
  5. Educational research

  

Learning Outcomes: 

The course is intended to achieve the following objectives:

  1. To instill into teacher trainees research methodologies so that they are able to do any type of research work
  2. To enable teacher trainees to learn test construction techniques that they are to use in setting examinations
  3. To analyse and interpret  their students’ scores (performance) for easier interpretation
  4. To enable teacher trainees to evaluate their student forms by assessing
