Course Description & Objectives: 

The capacity to provide services effectively and efficiently is a critical constraint in many areas in Uganda and Africa at large; and this is in many ways caused by energy resource incapacity. Government and electricity suppliers and utilities have a responsibility for ensuring provision of energy services; and/ or setting up support for alternative and efficient energy resource use within their area of jurisdiction in an effective manner.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Objectives:

  • To capacitate governmental agencies and local government officials to provide or support sustainable energy services. 
  •  To enhance knowledge and skills in energy resources management through the above highlighted areas.

 

Learning Outcomes: 

Upon completion of this course, participants will have enhanced knowledge, skills and/ or application in energy resources management and service delivery through the following aspects:

  • Energy services delivery chain from the raw Energy abstraction and generation to consumption.
  • Energy resources and Energy services planning.
  • Energy cost models – input and output costs.
  • Energy Conservation and Energy Demand Management practices.
  • Energy and revenue loss management practices.
