Course Description & Objectives: 

Definition of communication/ media law; freedom of expression and freedom of the press and media; constitutional and other legal provisions for freedoms of expressions; legal limits to freedoms of expression; issues of copyright; criminal legal sanctions; concerns of privacy, morality and journalism ethics; access to information – the Official Secrets Acts and related legislation; information and communication policy; broadcast policy and legislation; the role of media councils; issues of editorial policy controls; and the press Ombudsmen.
