Course Description & Objectives: 

: The course describes the process of enforcing environmental health law. It includes the process of prosecuting defaulters in law relating to environmental health, how to compile prosecution reports and present evidence to courts of law, tribunals and other public meetings.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:

  1. Identify potential offences of environmental health legislation.
  2. Plan investigations of possible infringements on environment and sanitation in the community.
  3. Describe the procedure followed in legal proceedings and prosecution
  4. Compile prosecution reports.
  5. Provide written/oral advice or other enforcement actions.
  6. Present evidence in Court, both as witnesses and advocate.
  7. Demonstrate the ability to enforce legislation related to environmental health.
