Course Description & Objectives: 

This course enables students to gain knowledge in setting up electronic business units, vendors, and purchasing items. They gain knowledge of how the requisition to purchase order process flow is completed. This perspective will help with implementation decisions on how to set up a system, and also creating business process practices. Course objectivesThe course will help students achieve the following objectives:

  • Describe the overview and history of e-procurement
  • understand and appreciate the concepts of e-procurement
  • Discuss procurement in relation to e-business.
  • Describe forms of e-procurement
  • Explain the implementation strategies of e-procurement in Uganda’s context.

 

Learning Outcomes: 

At the end of this course, students should be able to:

  • have a comprehensive understanding of the e- procurement forms
  • Develop and manage an effective e-Procurement system.
  • Create and Approve requisitions for catalog items
  • Create and use templates
  • Manage requisitions
  • Create requisitions for special requests and service contracts.
