  • To enable students explore and acquire comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Accounting so as to be able to logically handle some accounting tasks and problems.

 

  • To enable the students to apply this understanding accounting framework by preparing useable financial statements, present them as may be suitable to a wide range of users and interpreting financial reports in a practical context.

  

Learning Outcomes: 

On completion of this course the student will be able to:

  • Describe the role of financial reports and their users.
  • Describe various types of regulatory framework of accounting.
  • Record transactions under the double entry system.
  • Construct a trial balance and correct errors.
  • To account for property, plant and equipment.
  • Prepare financial statements for business organizations, manufacturing concerns and non-profit making organizations.
