Housing as one of the basic needs of life; Housing as types or styles in urban and rural areas and in different cultures; Housing standards and expected facilities; Facilitating and constraining factors to house construction; ownership of housing by gender; Implications of lack of or poor housing and accommodation on the health and social development of individuals and society; Strategies and programmes used by different countries to avail people housing;  Urban housing improvement programmes in Uganda; Issues of sanitation and housing in urban areas; Tenant/landlord relationships in housing policy and land use.
