Course Description & Objectives: 

The course aims at enabling the student understand and be able to apply integrative and multi-sectoral approaches in resolving environmental health concerns. Ecological concepts are introduced and the interaction between humans and the environment are described.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:i)    Explain the key terms and concepts used in ecologyii)   Explain the concept of inter-relationships in environmental studiesiii)  Explain the influence of ecological factors on living thingsiv)  Explain the concepts of ecosystems and bio-diversityv)   Describe the concept of ecological sustainabilityvi)  Demonstrate the impact of ecological factors on environmental healthvii)  Explain the process of Environmental Impact Assessment
