Course Description & Objectives: 

This course exposes learners to existing national, regional and global policies, agreements and conventions relating to library and information systems and services as well as professional ethics. The course also develops competencies among the learners of dealing with institutional information policies, standards and guidelines.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Objective:To expose learners to issues regarding national, regional and global policies, agreements relating to library and information systems and services 

Learning Outcomes: 

On completion the students will be able to:

  • Discuss different information policy issues at national. Regional and global levels
  • Explain policies relating to development, access, trade and utilization of information products and services
  • Interpret policies that affect information environments, communication and other related sectors
