Course Description & Objectives: 

This course focuses on strengthening the basic Arabic script introduced in ARB 1101. Students will learn the basics of writing and reading Arabic. In addition to teaching the script, special attention is put on Arabic phonology (sounds, emphasis, syllable structure, and related processes), and the teaching of a significant number of most commonly used expressions and words in Arabic.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Objective:

  • The course aims at equipping students with the basic skills of Arabic script, writing, and reading. At the same time some Arabic basic structures are introduced to the learners to enable them analyze formation of Arabic sentences and words.

 

Learning Outcomes: 
  • Students who successfully complete this course are able to functionally communicate  in basic situations in Arabic  - speaking,  more especially in regards to writing, reading and actively participate in simple conversations involving basic practical and social situations
