Course Description & Objectives: 

The course will cover the origins of Islamic philosophy and the factors the paved the way for Hellenistic invasion of the Muslim world and the role of Baytul Hikman in the shaping of muslim thought. The biographies and the works of the Muslim first Philosophers such as al-Kindi, al Farabi, Ib sina, al-Zhazali, etc. will be examined. The course will also cover Islamic philosophical movement in the Maghrib.
