Course Description & Objectives: 

This course is designed to familiarize students with basic theories, concepts, and skills related to organizational behaviour and effective leadership. Attempt will be made to draw cases and scenario on how leaders and organizational processes can influence individuals, groups and systems to enhance organizational effectiveness. Major topics include learning, perception and attribution, socialization, motivation, leadership, power and influence, communication, organizational culture and structure, and change.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Objectives:This course will be approached with three primary objectives:

  • To gain an understanding of individual, group, and organizational factors that influence performance and satisfaction of personnel in organizations.
  • To develop an appreciation for the central role that leadership has in shaping the attitudes and behaviours of individuals and groups in the workplace; and
  • To develop critical thinking skills through critique and evaluation of the research and theories presented, with special emphasis on their application to practical case studies.
