Course Description & Objectives: 

The course introduces students to a systematic overview of human development from conception to death, and interactions within social relationships from a life span perspective. The course aims at providing students the foundations of understanding life trajectories from a developmental-contextual approach, and an overview of the theories of human growth and development. The course articulates human growth, development and behavior as taking place within a biological, psychological and socio-cultural context. The students will also examine basic principles and milestones of normal human growth and development, with particular emphasis on concepts like attachment, resilience, loss, and change, identity and self across the human life-course.
