This course explores the theoretical and practical issues in the field of Linguistic application to Literature. This course emphasizes a broad grounding in Linguistics before Linguistic concepts can be applied usefully and systematically to the literary field. The students will be required to present seminar papers to encourage them blend practice with the theoretical issues raised. These seminar papers are essential and constitute the coursework component of the final examination evaluation. Any attempt to play down the importance of coursework will be penalized without mercy.
