Course Description & Objectives: 

To introduce students to the key concepts, models and theories used in past and current mass communication research; To explore how theories and models are constructed and tested, and critique existing mass communication theories. 

Learning Outcomes: 
  1. To introduce students to the key concepts, models and theories used in past and current mass communication research; To explore how theories and models are constructed and tested, and critique existing mass communication theories. 
  2. Analysis of core theories of communication, with particular focus on mass communication; processes and functions of Communication; models to explain the communication process; definitions and concepts of the mass media.
