THE NATURE AND SCOPE OF SOCIAL STUDIES

The course exposes the students to examine the factors involved at the birth of Social Studies.  It also looks at the theoretical outlook in Curricula formulation:  policies, professional development, implementation and evaluation stages                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Objectives:

1. To enable students to examine the foundation of social studies.
2. To examine formulation of social studies.
3. To examine the philosophical foundations of social studies. To assess the role of technology in resource development utilization and conservation.
