Course Description & Objectives: 

This course encompasses the principles of drug absorption, disposition and response and their application in the development and use of herbal medicines. 

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:-

  • Describe the processes of drug absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion;
  • Describe the exposure response relationship of a drug;
  • Determine the bioavailability and pharmacokinetic parameters of a drug;
  • Explain the factors that affect the bioavailability of a drug; and,
  • Explain the factors that affect the pharmacokinetics of a drug.
