Course Description & Objectives: 

The course presents the current debates and perspectives on the social context of population issues, and the interrelationships between population and socio-cultural, economic, and environmental issues in developing countries. The course deals with population dynamics, population policy, and consequences of population growth including reproductive health and family planning and the impact of the emerging diseases, such as HIV/AIDS.
