  1. Concepts of ecology.
  2. Ecosystem and the concept of the biosphere.
  3. Interrelationship between biotic and biotic factors.
  4. Energy flow; nutrient cycles in ecosystems-Ecology of communities.
  5. Tropical terrestrial and aquatic biomes,
  6. Population, community, ecosystem dynamics. 
  7. Energy flow, Biogeochemical cycles, Balance of nature, Ecosystems conservation. 
  8. The major ecosystems of East Africa and their resilience from disturbance. 
  9. East African biomes: forests, grasslands, montane, aquatic.
  10. Uganda’s Ecological zones and their protection.
  11. Alien species. Use of eco-technology in resource harnessing.
